What skincare routine is good for dry skin?

Gel oil milk cleanser, gel face wash, alcohol free toner, 23k gold elixir face oil, dry skin cream balm with descriptions of each and how they help the skin

If you have dry skin and don’t know what to use as part of your skincare routine the easiest thing to do is to keep it simple. Products that have gentle formulas are best for dry skin as they don’t disrupt or irritate the delicate skin barrier.

When you have dry skin you need to provide nourishment and hydration (this locks in water deep in the skin and helps to reduce water loss).

The simple five step routine below will help you care for your dry skin. You can find the ultimate Skincare Bundle here.

Step 1

Pre-cleanse: Morning & Evening

What?: Pre cleanses are usually an emulsifying cleansing oil like the SEB Gold Gel Oil Milk Cleanser that turns from a gel to an oil to milk at the touch of water! Incredible I know! The purpose of a pre cleanser is to help dissolve any makeup or dirt on the surface of the skin. It makes the second cleanse more effective which leads us to…

Step 2

Cleanse: When? Morning & Evening

What?: Cleansers can be creams, lotions, milks, facial wash-off bars, gels or water soluble creams with a muslin cloth to gently remove. The SEB Gold Rose Face Wash is a gentle gel formula made with organic rose water and cucumber extract that doesn’t dry the skin or leave it with that papery and tight feeling. The SEB Pink Clay & Geranium Bourbon is a gentle cleansing bar suitable for mature skin that refines the skin, the SEB Rhassoul Clay & Sandalwood is a clarifying cleansing bar that cleans and makes the skin look and feel soft and matte. The purpose of the second cleanse is to remove any dirt, sweat, sebum or make-up from the skin’s surface and freshen the skin after sleep.

Step 3

Tone: When?: Morning & Evening

What?: A light water or astringent that refreshes the skin. The purpose of a toner is to tighten the skin, stimulate the circulation and eliminate any trace of remaining cleanser from the skin. Try the SEB Organic Rose Floral Water suitable for mature or dry skin, SEB Organic Orange Blossom Floral Water suitable for dull skin and SEB Organic Manuka Floral Water suitable for acne or blemished skin.

Step 4

Face oil: When?: Morning & Evening

What?: Face oils help to hydrate and lock in moisture in the skin. The SEB 23K Gold Elixir Face Oil hydrates, smooths out wrinkles, evens out skin tone and moisturises the skin. It acts as a protective film on the skin to keep in moisture but block out dirt and grime which causes spots. Super light and gentle on the skin this oil does not block the pores.

Step 5

Targeted treatment: When? Morning & Evening

What: Targeted treatments help to combat skin concerns like super dry skin, try the SEB Apothecary Healing Balm to heal very dry skin. Or try eye balms to moisturise the delicate skin around the eye, on the upper and lower lid. This helps to reduce puffiness and is soothing making your eyes look refreshed and awake!
